Abstract
[Machine translation] The study analyzed the entries, from 2000 to 2020, of SerD users in residential facilities in a geographical area of Piedmont comprising a population of about 350,000 inhabitants, evaluating their length of stay in the facility, the completion rates of the routes and the repetition rate. In the face of a progressive aging of the subjects included (from 32.2 to 40.4 years), there is a parallel reduction in the length of stay in residential courses, which are even halved for “classic” community structures (Therapeutic-Rehabilitation Structures, STR, and Long-Term Care Rehabilitation Structures, SRLA). More than half of the entries (55%) were successful, with an improvement in the proportion of positive outcomes over time (from 37.4% in 2000-2004 to 62.5% in 2015-2020). Compared to the LEA (Essential Levels of Care) standards, there are significant discrepancies for all types of structures, with the exception of Crisis Centers, with residence times that are mostly shorter than the standard, suggesting the need for a reassessment in this regard.
