Abstract
We consider a recently developed algebraic criterion to check whether a fraction is saturated or not for a given model. Such criterion is based on combinatorial algebraic objects, namely the circuit basis of the design matrix of the model. We show on a case study how to use indicator functions of the circuits to classify saturated fractions. The connection with two optimality criteria is also analyzed.
