Abstract
[Machine translation] The article analyzes the dispute over marriage at the center of the Tiers Livre, highlighting its structure based on contrasts and renversements of points of view. It also highlights how different traditions flow into this dispute, starting with the great debate on feminism and anti-feminism, which develops from the discussions on the Roman de la Rose to the sixteenth-century Querelle des femmes. Likewise, it emphasizes how the Tiers Livre inherits the humanistic discussion for and against marriage, with regard to intellectual life.
