Abstract
Attraverso il tema del "palatium" è studiata in una nuova prospettiva la figura del sovrano dall'età merovingia a quella carolingia. Il suo essere un "padre", seppur di tipo particolare, è analizzato soprattutto in relazione all'episcopato franco.
