Abstract
[Machine translation] The essay recalls the forgotten contribution made by Professor Cesare Grassetti to Italian trade union law, framing its ideas in the historical context and following their subsequent developments, in order to verify their continuing relevance. The result of the research revealed, in his writings, the presence of a dogmatic reconstruction brought back to the system through a rigorous use of the scientific method, especially as a function of concrete solutions to the incessant needs of the time, as confirmed by the reconstruction of the dialogue he had with the doctrine and, above all, the jurisprudence of the time.
