Abstract
[Machine translation] The contribution addresses the principles and strategies of sustainable finance and the growing diffusion of ESG ratings as a tool for measuring the quality of investments. Based on the analysis of some concrete cases and recent trends in Europe and North America, some controversial aspects are highlighted, as well as the obstacles to the development of sustainable finance. In conclusion, some evolutionary lines are proposed concerning, in particular, how the holders of economic and governance rights over assets will be able to express their preferences on ESG issues in a context of participatory and democratic governance.
