Abstract
[Machine translation] The parallel examination of the conflicting accounts of the Hellenics of Oxyrhynchus and the Hellenics of Xenophon regarding the immediate background of the outbreak of the Corinthian War allows us to propose a reconstruction of the events at the origin of that conflict that throws an unprecedented light on the chronological and historiographic relationship between the two authors who would not be in direct controversy with each other, as commonly believed, but would propose the respective reconstructions of the facts independently of each other.
