Abstract
[Machine translation] The thesis aims to highlight how the poetics and the work of the writer, painter and art critic Giovanni, Testori are born from a dialogue between literature and visual arts, formulating an interpretative hypothesis, interdisciplinary that explains the figurative and not only literary matrix of his writing. The job, It proposes two mirror objectives: the identification of figurative precedents in the imagination of, Testori writer with the tools of art history, an operation conducted so far by Italianists, in a non-organic way, and the examination of the author's production in the field of art criticism with, the tools of literary criticism, to date dealt with almost exclusively by historians, of art. The thesis analyzes the author's pictorial work and the different forms of his writing,, giving ample emphasis to the articles written by Testori for periodicals that have so far been less popular, from critics. The first chapter investigates Testorian realism in relation to Longhi's teaching, to, Poetics of the 'Sublime of Everyday' and Sermo Humilis in word and figure - traced in, artists of Lombard realism between the 15th and 18th centuries (Foppa, Moroni, Romanino, Caravaggio, Fra, Galgario, Ceruti) and in the Sacred Mountains (Gaudenzio Ferrari) - and under the influence of Manzoni (with comparisons, with Gadda). The second chapter sees the body, the fulcrum of Testorian poetics, as the object of, aesthetic-theological reflection in various perspectives: the Pauline echoes in the iconography of Christus, Patiens and Triumphans, homosexuality, the unity of being from creation to resurrection, the plague, by Carlo Borromeo and the Weeping Ones (Francesco Cairo, Tanzio da Varallo). The third chapter enucleates I, recurring motifs in the Testorian work, often of a religious origin and coming from the production, figurative by the author or by other painters, such as the sacrifice of Christ, the assimilation between the artist and the, martyrdom and the opposition between human finiteness and divine infinity.
