Abstract
[Machine translation] The contribution presents the first results of research that intends to reconstruct, from a long-term perspective, the management and definition of rights of use on beaches, starting with the Ligurian case, in a long-term perspective. Some general considerations on the current question of history surrounding this particular object are followed by a brief presentation of a case study dedicated to the Republic of Genoa in the 18th century. Thanks to the unpublished sources, analyzed from an analytical (microhistorical) perspective, it is shown that on these spaces, constantly reconfigured by the action of natural elements and by the actions of local societies, forms of private appropriation, the vindication of public (or state) nature, and the projection of collective local interests have been confronted historically (as indeed they are still confronted today). The essay therefore addresses, within an attention that crosses environmental history, the history of property and political-social history, a completely original theme, that of the history of beaches, little practiced by historiography, despite the importance that they have had and that they have then assumed over the centuries. It also proposes the importance of discussing research methodologies and perspectives from an interdisciplinary point of view, and of also investigating the applied potential of historiographic research, proposing the importance of the contribution of historians in the fields of planning and discussion on patrimonialization processes.
