Abstract
[Machine translation] The contribution presents the results of the bioarchaeological investigations conducted at the underground cemetery of the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Vercelli, where, in the seventies of the eighteenth century, the remains of the burials of the next church of Santa Maria, already an episcopal church of the city in the early Christian era and demolished precisely in those years, were transferred. New burials then populated this funerary nucleus, at least until the first half of the 19th century. The interdisciplinary study combines archaeological and anthropological reflections, shedding light on a little-known aspect of post-medieval archeology in Eastern Piedmont.
