Abstract
[Machine translation] The contribution investigates, through some cases of Northern Italian monasteries from the early Middle Ages, the phenomenon of female monasticism and in particular its relationship with space, in the articulation of the buildings that make up these religious complexes and the functions and activities housed in them. It also reflects on possible specificities specific to communities of nuns, in the perspective adopted by the article.
