Abstract

The paper discusses enjambment in Greek poetry, offering detailed statistical analyses, esp. for Euripides. It argues that some types of enjambment are constrained, and that the degree of constraint gives indications on the style of delivery of Greek poetry expected of ancient performers, in different genres and times.
