After the state of the art, there is a chapter dedicated to the history of the Chamber of Accounts and its important archive. , The history of the Savoy Chamber is traced from its origins to the end of the Old Regime, and ends with the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy and with the establishment of the Court of Auditors. The only historian of the modern age who dealt with the Chamber of Accounts, limited to that of Savoy, was the Savoyard master auditor François Capré, who published the story dedicated to it in 1662. The only Piedmontese who tried his hand at such an enterprise, as far as the Turin Chamber was concerned, never completed his work, which came to us in the form of a brogliaccio and in the appendix to this study there is a critical edition with philological apparatus.
