Abstract
The effect on DNA synthesis in cell cultures exerted by two photoactive benzocoumarins were studied. A favourable ratio between inhibition of DNA synthesis and the irradiation time periods was found in these compounds. This activity is substantially due to their ability to produce a monofunctional adduct with DNA.
