Bellezza e verità nel pensiero di K.W.F. Solger

The essay analizes the way used by Solger to outline the nexus between beauty and truth in relationship to his ontology of revelation of essence in appearance, to his theory of ideas and to the configuration of the connections among art, philosophy and religion. In reference to his writings of aesthetics and of philosophy of religion it is shown how Solger’s theoretical perspective implies an essential connection between beauty and truth because from the point of view of the appearance (i.e. the duality) they reveal in an oppostive way the nexus between essence and appearance (beauty infact is the immediate presence of idea in reality, while truth is the idea which reality must assume in order to be able to be unified in thought), while from the point of view of the essence (i.e. unity) beauty and truth as different ideas identify themselves in the (mistical) instant of faith in which the eternal truth reveals itself.
