Abstract
We evaluated the effects of pretreatment with atorvastatin on postprocedural release of markers of myocardial damage in patients with stable angina undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Results showed that pretreatment with atorvastatin favorably affected the cardiac markers creatine kinase-MB, troponin I, and myoglobin, which significantly reduced myocardial injury.
