Abstract

[Machine translation] Gender-based violence and ill-treatment of women and minors represent a significant public health problem, with important clinical, psychiatric and medico-legal implications. Traumatic consequences frequently include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety disorders, and persistent mental vulnerability, with significant social, relational and work impacts. The objective of the study was to analyze the epidemiological, clinical and psychiatric-forensic characteristics of victims belonging to different Italian centers, evaluating the type of violence, management methods and psychopathological consequences., Violence against women and minors emerges as a predominantly domestic and relational phenomenon, with significant psychiatric and medico-legal repercussions. The results highlight the need for shared protocols and integrated 360° management, aimed at ensuring continuity of care, protection of the victim, prevention of secondary victimization and adequate documentation of mental harm
